Owa Academy was founded by Mfundo Owami Ndaba in July 2020. We offers Robotics, Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D Printing, Drone and Animation lessons for kids. Our aim to empower them with essential skills for the 4th Industrial Revolution. The academy’s passion for technology and hands-on learning drives their focus on continuous practice to achieve mastery. With kids’ sponge-like minds and early exposure to digital gadgets, Owa Academy strives to equip them with income-generating skills, fostering problem- solving abilities and innovative thinking. Our dedicated team assists kids with their robotics homework and offers additional lessons to further enhance their skills. Mfundo Owami Ndaba
Founder
His passion for robotics started in 2019 when he was 10 years old. He has been deeply engaged in the world of robotics, having built and coded over 180 different robots. His expertise spans various robotics kits such as Lego Boost, Star Wars, Batman, Mindstorm EV3, Mindstorm Inventor, Spike Prime, MicroBit and Arduino. He designs 3D images using TinkerCAD, with a portfolio of 50 printed 3D images available on Thingiverse. Alongside this, he has demonstrated his creativity through 10 short animation stories and 6 logo designs. Moreover he is skilled in game development using Scratch and has actively participated in numerous robotics training sessions and competitions.
Currently he is furthering his knowledge in website design and Arduino robots. His responsibilities include building, coding, and testing the robots. He handles 3D design, 3D printing, and 3D printer maintenance tasks. He has also earned a certificate of attendance from Hands on Technology, the leading reseller of Lego Education kits in South Africa.

Nomthandazo Ndaba
Managing Director
She holds a degree in Information Systems and Technology from the University of KwaZulu Natal (2006) and an Internal Audit Technician diploma with a focus on IT Audit from the Institute of Internal Auditors (2012).Furthermore she obtained an Advanced Diploma in Project Management with a specialization in IT Projects from Cranefield College (2019) and later completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management in 2022
In addition to her educational achievements, she has actively pursued a career in Robotics and Coding since July 2020, completing over 120 projects in this field. She has also undergone specialized training, such as becoming a qualified robotics coach through the I-SET Robotics M1 program at Unisa in March 2022 and receiving training in teaching robotics from Hands on Technology in November 2021.
To complement her technical expertise, she holds various international qualifications which include ITIL Foundation, COBIT and ITIL Intermediate certifications from Torque IT.
In her current role, she assumes responsibility for managing daily company operations, including securing appointments, proposals, demonstrations, finances, marketing, lesson planning, teaching, and administration. Additionally, she actively seeks to enhance her skills by attending workshops focused on 4th Industrial Revolution advancements at Tshimologong Precinct, hosted by Wits University.
